Welcome to the City of Leeds Gymnastics Club!
Please bear with us whilst we transition the Club to our new premises in Seacroft.
In this Olympic year the City of Leeds have completed a Marathon – one of the biggest logistical enterprises we have ever undertaken- the MOVE OUT OF CARNEGIE. The past four days hundreds of men/women/ gymnasts/siblings/other relations/coaches have been mobilised to move all the gymnastic equipment out of Carnegie. The equipment (including absolutely everything) was loaded onto an army of trucks (including the army truck!!) and moved to the new site.
Over 380 cubic metres of foam was emptied out of the pits by an army of volunteers (horrible dirty work), packed into bags and loaded on lorries, manhandled up the stairs and packed to rafters in the new gym!!!
Refreshments have miraculous appeared, plastic bags have been manufactured and people have scrambled for lorries and kit to keep the operation going. Thanks go to absolutely everyone for giving up their time over this Easter Holiday (some people have not had Easter because they have been there every day). Really without you all we could not have made it happen and we have been astounded how fast it all came together. The good humour, hard work and team work was fantastic and the vision for our new club is taking shape and the excitement is building .
